Your responsibilities will include assisting in the design of new and rehabilitated hydraulic structures, such as dams, spillways, gates, and floodwalls. You will review structural documents for conflicts across disciplines and assist in the development of design criteria, report preparation, and quality assurance reviews. You will write and edit hydraulic structure specifications, select procedures and materials, and complete necessary calculations. Additionally, you will coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of projects. Establishing meetings and participating in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance will be part of your duties. You will also conduct design development work sessions both in the office and at project sites, ensuring technical consistency in reports and documentation. Mentoring and coaching junior engineers and support staff will be a key aspect of your role, as well as coordinating with affected disciplines during construction.
