About the position

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for various aspects of substation structural design, including the preparation of steel performance drawings, fabrication drawings, and foundation design. The role involves developing construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules while ensuring compliance with structural code requirements and coordinating with multiple disciplines involved in electrical substation design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel performance drawings, fabrication drawings, and foundation design.
• Develop steel and concrete construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.
• Understand and incorporate typical structural code requirements.
• Coordinate with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design.
• Prepare calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements.
• Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
• Support Project Manager with project reporting needs.
• Assist in proposal development.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs.

Requirements

• Experience in civil/structural engineering, particularly in substation design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of structural design and structural analysis.
• Knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Seismic Engineering for structures is a plus.
