About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer, specializing in the design and implementation of transportation projects with the MTA and DOT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineering projects for primarily the MTA and Amtrak projects such as the Broadway Junction in Brooklyn and ADA upgrades throughout the region
• Supervise drafting and drawing development
• Mentor 2 or more junior engineers
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Prepare and present project reports and documentation to clients and stakeholders
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects
• Proven experience with MTA projects is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software
• Familiarity with Microstation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
