Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in the design of buildings.
  • Perform engineering design for components and connections.
  • Conduct 3D finite element modeling of components and structures.
  • Prepare documents in CAD and BIM environments.
  • Manage projects and project teams to successful completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Illinois.
  • 7+ years of diverse project experience in building design with demonstrated professional growth.
  • Experience in precast/prestressed concrete design is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of structural analysis/design fundamentals, 3D finite element analysis, diaphragm analysis and design, and structural integrity requirements.
  • Familiarity with current building and material codes.
  • Proficient in commercially-available office software (Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Experience with 3D modeling and drafting software, and engineering software such as RAM suite, Risa, TEDDS, LEC Wall, etc.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new engineering principles and stay updated on code changes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in precast/prestressed concrete design.
  • Advanced understanding of diaphragm analysis and design.
