About the position

The Structural Engineer position at Randstad US involves overseeing the structural aspects of vessel construction and retrofits for a prominent military and commercial vessel manufacturer. The role supports design and detail engineering efforts for unique fabrication projects that require expertise in steel and aluminum. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Rhino 3D and will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of mechanical systems design.

Responsibilities

• Design vessel mechanical systems
• Maintain a good working knowledge of design spiral, vessel arrangements, structural, electrical, mechanical, and outfit details
• Support estimators in project planning and cost estimation
• Assist production teams with engineering support

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
• Experience as a Design Engineer
• Marine Engineering experience preferred (3 years)
• Vessel Design experience preferred (3 years)
• Proficiency in CAD software
• Experience with Solidworks (3 years preferred)
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Rhino 3D
• Familiarity with military and commercial vessel standards
