About the position

The Structural Engineer is responsible for leading structural planning, design, engineering, and construction document production. This role involves managing multiple projects, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring quality deliverables while adhering to building codes and regulations. The engineer will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to achieve project objectives and deadlines, while also mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural planning, designing, engineering, and construction document production.
  • Manage multiple projects from beginning to end, ensuring clear communication of project objectives and scope changes.
  • Work closely with clients, partners, and colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver quality products.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods to all projects.
  • Facilitate collaboration with clients and internal staff to achieve quality work.
  • Manage information flow and seek process improvements.
  • Stay current on trends and technical advances in structural engineering.
  • Stamp/seal self-produced documents as required.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills.
  • Direct drafting efforts to support structural design.
  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural/Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; SE license is a plus.
  • Seven or more years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with steel and concrete design is required; masonry and wood experience is a plus.
  • Established track record of complete structural system design for buildings.
  • Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework.
  • Demonstrated exceptional planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and specialized structural engineering software (e.g., RAM Software, RISA).
  • Revit experience is preferred.

  • Experience in higher education, corporate/commercial, and industrial facilities.
