About the position

The Structural Design Engineer will oversee the structural aspects of vessel construction and retrofits for a prominent military and commercial vessel manufacturer. This role involves supporting design and detail engineering efforts for unique fabrication projects that require expertise in steel and aluminum materials.

Responsibilities

• Design vessel mechanical systems
• Maintain a good working knowledge of design spiral, vessel arrangements, structural, electrical, mechanical, and outfit details
• Support estimators in project assessments
• Assist production teams with engineering support

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Minimum 4 years of experience in structural design
• Experience as a Design Engineer
• Familiarity with Marine Engineering
• Proficiency in CAD and Solidworks (3 years of experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in vessel design (3 years preferred)
• Understanding of Rhino 3D
