About the position

The Sr. Structural Engineer will lead complex transportation infrastructure projects primarily for MTA and Amtrak, ensuring high standards of safety, durability, and efficiency. This role requires extensive design experience and technical expertise, focusing on detailed engineering work rather than project management. The engineer will also mentor junior engineers and oversee drafting and drawing development.

Responsibilities

• Lead MTA and Amtrak projects, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
• Supervise drafting and drawing development without needing to draft or draw personally.
• Mentor and manage 2 junior engineers.
• Utilize modeling software such as STAAD PRO for structural analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering design work.
• Strong technical skills with a focus on details rather than project management.
• Experience with MTA projects for at least 5 years.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with MicroStation for drawing development.
