About the position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, from the initial concept and feasibility stages through to the detailed design and construction phases. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and will be responsible for creating, improving, and protecting the structural integrity of our projects. This role requires a high level of technical competence, as well as excellent project management skills. With a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and safety, the Structural Design Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of structural integrity. The ideal candidate will be involved in developing detailed designs for structural components and systems using Revit and other relevant software. They will provide technical advice and guidance on structural design issues to project teams, manage the delivery of projects from concept through to completion, and ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, the Structural Design Engineer will lead and coordinate the work of junior engineers and other team members, conduct site visits and inspections, and liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on projects. Responsibilities

  • Developing detailed designs for structural components and systems using Revit and other relevant software.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on structural design issues to project teams.
  • Managing the delivery of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Leading and coordinating the work of junior engineers and other team members.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure that construction work is carried out in accordance with design specifications.
  • Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on projects.
  • Preparing and presenting reports, proposals, technical drawings, and other documentation as required.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in structural engineering and incorporating this knowledge into designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree would be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit and other structural design software.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make sound technical decisions.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is preferred.
