About the position

The Structural Engineer Developer will join a national multidisciplinary design firm, focusing on sustainable building practices and high-performance structures. This role emphasizes collaboration, analysis, and design, with a commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainability in engineering. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects, including laboratories, healthcare facilities, and cultural buildings, while utilizing advanced programming skills to enhance structural analysis and design processes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design various structural systems.
  • Process big data and clearly communicate results.
  • Use coding skills and digital tools to develop automated workflows for structural analysis, design, and optimization.
  • Develop custom applications for use in analysis/design.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, MS preferred.
  • 1-5 years of professional experience as a practicing engineer in the building profession.
  • Knowledge of structural dynamics.
  • Knowledge of building codes, design & construction standards such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual.
  • Experience with a variety of structural analysis software packages such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE.
  • Knowledge of seismic analysis and design concepts is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Rhino & Grasshopper, Revit, and their respective APIs and SDKs is a plus.
  • Ability to perform queries in a database is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • High level of motivation, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to work in a team environment to find the best solutions for each individual project.

Nice-to-haves
