About the position

The Structural Engineering Lead - Bridge Design at Lochmueller Group is a senior-level position responsible for leading and developing the Structural Engineering team in Missouri. The role emphasizes fostering a positive workplace culture while managing bridge design projects for DOT and local agencies. The ideal candidate will be a Professional Engineer with extensive experience in structural engineering and project management, contributing to the growth of the service line and making a positive impact on the communities served.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the growth, leadership, and development of the Missouri Structural team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with DOT and local agency clients, assisting with business development for the Structural Engineering service line.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of bridge and transportation structures design.
  • Perform as a project manager on DOT and local agency bridge design projects.
  • Work on major projects or several major projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Assist senior management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Prepare proposals and funding applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis is helpful
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of Structural Engineering experience with an emphasis on bridge design projects
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
