About the position

The Structural Engineering Project Manager at LJB Inc. is responsible for overseeing the production of construction documents and managing projects through construction administration. This role involves coordinating with clients, leading a team of engineers and designers, and ensuring quality control while fostering client relationships. The position requires a strong technical background in applicable codes and standards, as well as the ability to secure work in various markets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production of construction documents and manage projects through construction administration.
• Perform quality control reviews to ensure compliance with LJB Standards and applicable code requirements.
• Mentor engineers and designers to develop and grow the team.
• Maintain and develop client relationships to secure new projects.
• Develop proposals and budgets for new projects.
• Manage budget of assigned projects.
• Secure work in industrial, healthcare, multi-family, cold-storage, manufacturing, or data center markets through existing relationships.
• Travel to visit client and project locations as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure; Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in new and existing buildings utilizing steel, concrete, timber, and masonry design.
• Experience in seismic design preferred.
• Cold-form and post tensioned design experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work as a team.
