About the position

HOK is seeking an Engineering Student Intern to assist with basic design tasks and support project teams in completing assignments on aggressive schedules. The intern will apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while fostering a commitment to sustainability and client service.

Responsibilities

• Perform elementary engineering assignments based on designs from others.
• Develop, modify, and review drawings.
• Organize and maintain documents for specific projects.
• Work closely with project teams to complete projects on aggressive schedules.
• Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
• Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering or related degree program.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Basic knowledge of building regulations and safety codes.
• Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precise technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
• Basic proficiency in Revit Structure and AutoCAD preferred.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• Basic knowledge about sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines preferred.
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous internship with an engineering or architectural design firm preferred.
