About the position

This position offers an exciting opportunity for Structural Engineers to contribute to a variety of innovative projects, including the design and construction of new high-rise buildings, historical structures, professional sports venues, and large infrastructure projects. The role is critical in supporting space exploration affiliates and other significant engineering endeavors. The successful candidates will be involved in detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design for various access systems, such as scaffolds, hoist elevators, mast climbers, and suspended systems. In this role, engineers will design elevated access platforms and personnel/material hoists tailored for the construction, energy, and industrial sectors. They will prepare drawing submittals using AutoCAD or Revit, ensuring compliance with applicable design codes, OSHA regulations, local codes, and company guidelines. The position also requires providing technical assistance to branches, which may involve visiting project sites and branches to ensure effective communication and support. Responsibilities will encompass structural analysis and design, preparation of detailed and accurate design calculations, and conducting site inspections. Engineers will collaborate with other application engineers to provide technical support for regional branch customers, including scaffold erection drawings and bills of materials. Following design guidelines and standards is essential, as is collaboration with Product Development engineers to offer custom product solutions and design feedback. Candidates will gain expertise in the company's extensive product offerings to deliver unique access solutions and will leverage engineering CAD and PDM management tools effectively. The role demands quick decision-making in a high-demand environment while maintaining a strong safety mindset and compliance with all safety protocols within the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design for access systems (scaffold, hoist elevators, mast climbers, suspended systems)
  • Design elevated access platforms and personnel/material hoists for construction, energy, and industrial sectors
  • Prepare drawing submittals using AutoCAD or Revit for projects following applicable design codes, OSHA regulations, local codes, and company guidelines
  • Provide technical assistance to branches, including visiting branches and project sites
  • Conduct structural analysis and design, preparation of detailed accurate design calculations, and site inspections
  • Work with other application engineers to provide technical support for regional branch customers, including scaffold erection drawings, bill of materials, and site visits
  • Follow design guidelines and standards
  • Collaborate with Product Development engineers to provide custom product solutions and design feedback
  • Gain expertise in the company’s extensive product offerings to provide right/unique access solutions
  • Leverage engineering CAD and PDM management tools effectively
  • Knowledge of regional fleet and look for ways to leverage them effectively in designs
  • Make quick decisions in a high demand environment
  • Comply with all safety protocols within the work environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in structural engineering
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including 3D AutoCAD; Revit preferred
  • Knowledge of engineering software such as STAAD, RISA, TEDDS, ENERCALC, and others is a plus
  • Candidate has successfully completed FE exam (EIT status) preferred and is on track to take the PE exam within 2 years or less
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary along with a customer service focus
  • Motivated to learn new and challenging tasks and work in the construction industry
  • Creative problem-solving skills in a collaborative team environment
