About the position

The Structural Heart Staff RN in Naperville is responsible for providing high-quality support to physicians in meeting the medical needs of patients within a cardiology setting. This full-time position involves working closely with patients, performing various nursing duties, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, teamwork, and adherence to current nursing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms and prepare them for physicians.
  • Take vital signs and record medical history/symptoms.
  • Ensure medical charts and lab test results are available and complete.
  • Perform telephone triage and patient education, handling physician and pharmacy calls.
  • Administer immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed, documenting all activities in the chart.
  • Assist physicians with procedures as necessary.
  • Clean and stock patient examination rooms and prepare instruments for procedures.
  • Complete paperwork such as ordering lab tests and x-rays.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and restock medication cabinet as necessary.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns as a liaison between physician and patient.
  • Report all test results to the patient as directed by the physician.
  • Perform OSHA controls and assist in narcotic count.
  • Utilize current nursing practices to provide patient care and exemplify service excellence.

Requirements

  • Current IL RN licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Prefer a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting, but may consider new grads under specific circumstances.
