About the position

The Structural Project Designer will be responsible for designing and analyzing the structural performance of buildings in relation to site conditions and construction practices. This role involves collaboration with contractors and other design professionals, preparing construction documents, and ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for various building types and materials using applicable building codes.
• Coordinate design work with in-house staff and other design professionals, including architects and engineers.
• Prepare construction documents within a BIM environment.
• Ensure accuracy and updates of design/analysis specifications and calculations for active projects.
• Prepare technical reports that are clear and grammatically correct for client understanding.
• Assist in maintaining project schedules, change orders, and budgets.
• Review ongoing contractor work for project completion and prepare design/repair packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or applicable work experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design, with recent graduates considered.
• Understanding of design processes and compliance with construction professionals.
• Experience with small projects such as cultural buildings, office buildings, and healthcare facilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of industry software including RAM, Risa 3-D, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood design codes.
• Familiarity with local and national building codes and design practices.
