About the position

The Structural Project Engineer position at Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. involves conducting structural assessments of commercial properties. The role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in structural design and engineering fundamentals. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, performing on-site evaluations, generating assessment reports, and providing repair recommendations for identified structural issues.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site reconnaissance, interviews, research, and review of pertinent documentation to evaluate existing structures and construction plans to assess building vulnerabilities.
  • Perform limited structural calculations for forensic analysis.
  • Problem solve solutions, identify repair recommendations, and generate rough order of magnitude costs of repairs for structural issues identified during assessments.
  • Author structural assessment reports in accordance with Partner standards and industry best practices.
  • Effectively communicate project progress and issues with the Project Manager and maintain communication with team members throughout the course of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of engineering
  • PE License (Registration in multiple states and/or S.E. registration are a big PLUS)
  • Experience in the analysis and design of structures in regions of high seismicity
  • Experience in the design of wood-framed concrete, steel, and masonry structures
  • Solid understanding of modern buildings codes and seismic provisions

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is desirable
