About the position

The Structural Project Engineer V position at PBS Engineering and Environmental involves performing structural design and analysis for various public and private clients. The role requires expertise in designing gravity and lateral systems for buildings, industrial structures, and excavation shoring systems, as well as transportation infrastructure design. The engineer will utilize various software tools for structural analysis and design, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform structure design and analysis for public/private clients.
• Design gravity and lateral systems of buildings and industrial structures.
• Work on excavation shoring systems and transportation infrastructure design.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam for design tasks.
• Conduct structural analysis and design of various materials including steel, concrete, wood, light gauge, and masonry.
• Use ETABS, RAM, RISA3D, and other finite element analysis software for structural analysis.
• Conduct research and fieldwork to evaluate and apply standard techniques and procedures to structural design.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Provide engineering services prior to and during construction, including cost estimates, review of submittals, response to RFIs, and site inspections.

Requirements

• Washington State PE license in civil/structural is required.
• In-depth knowledge of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, structural steel code AISC360, and reinforced concrete code ACI318.
