About the position

Exponent is seeking a Structural - Senior Engineer/Associate to join our Buildings & Structures Practice in New York, NY. This role is pivotal in conducting analytical and computer problem-solving, performing experimental field investigations, and maintaining strong client relations. As a Senior Engineer/Associate, you will be responsible for inspecting, analyzing, and determining the root causes of structural performance failures. You will also develop risk mitigation strategies for structures while continuing your professional development towards establishing expertise in the field. This position requires the ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals across engineering, business, and industry sectors. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, leveraging your skills to address complex engineering challenges. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent creative problem-solving abilities and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work independently, as well as lead and collaborate with others, is essential. You will thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, where meeting deadlines is crucial. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering with significant relevant work experience.
  • P.E. or S.E. license or the ability to become licensed in the State of New York.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship.
  • Excellent creative problem-solving ability.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong desire to meet deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
