About the position

The Structural Engineer position at Metromont Corporation involves the cost-efficient design of precast concrete systems, connections, and components. The role requires collaboration with drafter/modelers, coordinators, and other engineers to ensure successful project completion. The engineer will independently manage design aspects, perform engineering calculations, and resolve design issues while adhering to company standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Design precast concrete systems, connections, and components cost-effectively.
• Coordinate with drafter/modelers, coordinators, and other engineers to facilitate project completion.
• Perform engineering calculations and details for all products and connections.
• Independently manage engineering design aspects of projects with minimal guidance.
• Review contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Attend project meetings and resolve engineering design issues independently.
• Assist others in resolving engineering design issues.
• Check engineering design calculations and details of others for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Be aware of production processes through regular plant visits.
• Become licensed in states where engineering work is performed and review and stamp drawings and calculations when assigned.
• Complete repairs without assistance.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience, either internal or external.
• Computer skills with experience in engineering design software preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Ability to maintain project schedules and work within a project team.
• Proactive in addressing project issues.
• Ability to document ongoing information on projects for recordkeeping.
