As an Engineering Designer at Google, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience through your strong technical background and design expertise. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage your knowledge in Mechanical Engineering and Product Design to streamline product designs and ensure they meet user needs. You will collaborate closely with product managers and development engineers throughout the entire production cycle, from high-level product flow to detailed UI mockups. Your ability to script will be essential in bringing your designs to life, ensuring that they are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-friendly. In this fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment, you will utilize your expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to create models that predict structural behavior. This will involve using tools like ABAQUS to perform both explicit and implicit simulations for Watch systems and subsystems. Your work will be pivotal in identifying design issues early in the product lifecycle, allowing the team to address potential problems during production and reliability testing. You will also partner with cross-functional teams, including Reliability and Material Science Engineering, to drive failure analysis and improve simulation processes, ensuring the accuracy of your analyses. Your role will also involve documenting the results of your analyses and presenting them to product teams, cross-functional teams, and upper management. You will be expected to respond rapidly to technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and support material and component-level characterization testing. Your contributions will help drive the design of experiments and root cause analysis, ultimately enhancing the quality and reliability of Google's products. Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. As part of the Devices & Services team, you will be at the forefront of creating innovative technologies and hardware that improve user interactions with computing, making their lives better through technology.
