About the position

This position at Sierra Lobo involves supporting NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center's Structural Strength Test Branch. The role focuses on the assembly, maintenance, and testing of space flight test articles and related systems. The candidate will work closely with NASA personnel and other team members to ensure the successful execution of testing operations, adhering to safety and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Support NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center's Structural Strength Test Branch and contractor personnel.
• Assemble space flight test articles and perform routine maintenance.
• Install and integrate various mechanical and instrumentation components such as strain gauges, pressure transducers, thermocouples, load cells, and hydraulic actuators.
• Interface directly with MSFC customers, technicians, and other test team members.
• Work from written and verbal instructions provided by the Department Manager or Team Leads.
• Perform other duties as required to fulfill the mission of the MSFC Structural Strength Testing Branch.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or High School diploma and/or 5 years equivalent technical experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and MS Office products.
• Experience in installing strain gauges and instrumentation applications.
• Knowledge of data collection, network maintenance, electrical assembly, soldering, crimping, and fabricating cables/connectors.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with digital audio/video equipment installation and operation.
• Familiarity with forklifts, aerial lifts, bridge cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment.
