About the position

As a Structural Technician IV, you will leverage your extensive skills and experience in aviation to assemble and create major assembly structures and perform minor part-fitting operations. This role involves translating blueprints into fabrications, ensuring quality control, and collaborating with team members to meet mission objectives. You will be part of the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) team, which supports various defense and security operations worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and create major assembly structures and perform minor part-fitting operations.
• Update job status on the operations database.
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies, including basic layout and precision drilling.
• Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures.
• Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• Modify incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporate changes into the structure.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Perform various maintenance duties and ensure appropriate communication between team members, quality control, and engineering.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
• Progressive experience with structure assembly and minor part fitting techniques.
• Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
• Attention to minute details and ability to see differences in drawings for each aircraft configuration.
• Ability to work in small areas for long periods of time.
• Must have own tools in good working order.
