About the position

The Structural Test Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations within the structural test facility, ensuring that testing activities are conducted safely and effectively. This role involves managing personnel, maintaining the physical space, and executing and reporting on structural tests, requiring a high level of organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, construction, and preparation of test fixtures and test articles according to engineering specifications.
• Manage the implementation of the full aircraft load control system.
• Supervise and execute long-term full aircraft fatigue tests.
• Write certification test plans and compile detailed test reports.
• Ensure the ongoing maintenance and operational readiness of the structural test facility.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical design, and stress engineering teams to develop and implement test plans.
• Supervise conformity efforts for tests and coordinate with the FAA to arrange for test witnesses.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• In-depth understanding of hydraulically actuated systems.
• Familiarity with load control software and systems.
• General knowledge of data acquisition systems.
• Familiar with all facets of load and displacement measurements.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Basic understanding of aircraft structures.
• Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 23 or Part 25.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
