Structural Welder (must be within 1 hour of job site)

About the position

The Structural Welder position at Waskey involves welding various materials in a fabrication shop environment. The role requires precise measurement and cutting of materials to specifications, along with the ability to operate welding equipment and tools effectively.

Responsibilities

• Cut on bandsaw and sheer plate into required shapes and check dimensions and thickness
• Drive small forklift as needed
• Work in a fabrication shop environment
• Use saws and/or punches, iron workers/metal workers
• Monitor the welding process and adjust the torch as necessary
• Perform MIG welding and flux core welding
• Conduct some stick welding as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic mathematical skills with the ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to pass SMAW, GMAW, FCAW testing
• Willingness to work some Saturdays and overtime as needed
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints is a plus
• Previous experience working in a fabrication shop is a plus
