About the position

The Structure Foreman at Conti Civil LLC will oversee the structure and sound wall operations for the US 17 Hampstead Bypass project in Hampstead, NC. This role is crucial for ensuring that production goals are met safely and within contractual requirements, while also managing a designated crew and maintaining high standards of performance and safety on the job site.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, directs, and oversees activities of designated crew to ensure production goals are accomplished safely.
• Performs proper placement of precast elements for sound walls.
• Erects columns, casts in place footings and caps, and builds and erects wood and metal forms as required.
• Ensures all materials are properly staged to maintain productivity.
• Conducts pre-task meetings with the work crew to ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Communicates effectively with the project team regarding planning, materials, and logistics.
• Establishes and enforces job site policies and standards of performance.
• Exercises judgment to troubleshoot and solve issues as they arise.
• Completes daily Foreman Report and tracks payroll records accurately.
• Orders and verifies all materials necessary for daily tasks are on site.
• Trains employees on proper equipment use and improves job performance.
• Evaluates employee performance and makes recommendations for promotions or disciplinary actions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, specifically in bridge/heavy highway construction as a Lead Pile Driver, Lead Carpenter, or Structure Foreman.
• Supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to lift construction materials exceeding 50 lbs.
• Ability to resolve problems and make timely decisions.
• Ability to evaluate workers' performance and workmanship.
• Ability to operate various powered construction equipment and tools.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
• Thorough knowledge of safety precautions in construction environments.
