About The Position

The Structured Cabling Technician at Superior Communication Services is responsible for the installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems in a commercial environment. This role requires a reliable and motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction. The position involves hands-on technical work, including fiber termination and installation of various cabling components.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of cabling experience.
• Technical skills and knowledge of structured cabling systems.
• Ability to follow blueprints, notes, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Fiber termination experience.
• Industry specific manufacturer certifications and BICSI training and/or certifications preferred.
• Experience with AV and/or access control.

Responsibilities

• Roughing in, terminating, and testing copper cabling.
• Installing pathway supports such as j-hooks and ladder trays.
• Servicing/troubleshooting network cabling in a commercial environment.
• Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures.
