About the position

The Structured Credit Service (SCS) team at Deutsche Bank is seeking an Assistant Vice President to provide oversight for a specific population of deals within the Structured Credit Service product. This role is crucial as it involves reviewing and approving ad hoc requests throughout the life cycle of securitizations. The position is based in New York, NY, and reports to a manager located in Santa Ana, CA. The oversight function requires close interaction with client services teams in Santa Ana and Jacksonville, ensuring that oversight responsibilities are completed in a timely manner. In this role, you will be responsible for various oversight functions, including the review of deal set-up, which encompasses investment instructions, checklist reviews, and approvals. You will also be involved in the annual review process for each applicable transaction, ensuring compliance with deal terminations, executing deal documents, and managing escalated inquiries. This includes working with outside counsel, transaction management, and product heads to address any issues that arise. Additionally, you will participate in oversight management meetings and governance committees, collaborating with other teams such as Transaction Management and the Default and Distressed Transaction Team. The SCS team provides trustee, collateral administrator, and custodian services for Collateralized Debt Obligations and other private structures. As part of your role, you will enhance your product knowledge by reviewing compliance documents, maintaining deal/account information across various bank applications, and ensuring adherence to Know-Your-Client and new account opening processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of SCS transactions and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve ad hoc requests throughout the life cycle of securitizations.
  • Conduct oversight functions including deal set-up reviews, investment instructions, and checklist approvals.
  • Sign off on the annual review process for applicable transactions.
  • Manage knowledge and awareness of deal terminations, executing deal documents and system approvals.
  • Review and execute contracts for new deals, amendments, and terminations.
  • Handle escalated inquiries, interacting with outside counsel and transaction management.
  • Approve changes in bondholder statements and restatements/reporting changes.
  • Participate in oversight management meetings and governance committees.
  • Collaborate with Transaction Management, Default, and Distressed Transaction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Know-Your-Client and new account opening processes.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret legal transactional documents and bank procedures.
  • Proficient/advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Product knowledge preferred but not required.
