About the position

The Loan Servicing Senior Manager is a mid-level supervisory role within the commercial mortgage servicing and asset management division. This position involves overseeing processes or portfolios, directing the work of teams, and ensuring compliance with policies and departmental plans. The role requires interaction with various stakeholders, including clients, borrowers, and contractors, to manage a defined portfolio of loans and joint venture equity investments effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain, train, and manage a team of managers and analysts dedicated to assigned client(s).
  • Monitor the performance of properties and progress of business plans related to a defined portfolio of loans and/or joint venture equity investments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, borrowers/sponsors, property managers, team members, and other parties associated with an assigned portfolio.
  • Review and interpret deal documents and monitor compliance.
  • Perform construction draw reviews and coordinate the funding process with inspectors, clients, and borrowers.
  • Review all aspects of the deals in the assigned portfolio, including leases for traditional property types and franchise agreements for hotels.
  • Review materials and prepare recommendations for client review and approval following requests from borrowers or sponsors.
  • Track capital inflows and outflows related to ground-up and major renovation deals, some with multiple capital partners.
  • Build and maintain financial models related to commercial loans with multiple releases of collateral during the hold period.
  • Monitor borrower or sponsor completion of special-condition items required by the deal documents.
  • Draft, manage, update, and/or review monthly reports and manage any specific client requirements.
  • Conduct property inspections in coordination with clients and/or third-party inspectors.
  • Review budgets annually and supervise operating statements on a periodic basis, benchmarking to industry standards and underwriting projections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution.
  • At least 10 years of commercial mortgage servicing or related experience.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Exceptional professional writing and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Detailed underwriting capabilities.
  • An understanding of construction and development and tracking construction projects for capital providers.
  • Extensive Microsoft Excel experience building models for tracking performance and forecasting cash flows.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-resolution skills.
  • Experience with McCracken Strategy preferred.
