About the position

The Structures Inspection and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing engineering staff involved in the inspection and maintenance of structures in Northern Wisconsin. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a background in structural engineering. The supervisor will operate independently, report to the Chief of Structures Maintenance, and coordinate with various partners to ensure effective program delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Regional Structures Inspection and Maintenance Unit A in the Bureau of Structures.
• Manage the inspection and maintenance program for structures in the jurisdiction of multiple offices.
• Communicate with external partners including the Federal Highway Administration and engineering consulting firms.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to promote consistent processes across the state.
• Develop and communicate written policy documents related to structural engineering programs.

Requirements

• Valid Professional Engineer license and ability to obtain Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if licensed in another state.
• Experience in Bridge Structure Analysis/Design, Bridge Structure Construction, or Structure Inspection.
• Experience in transportation project management.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
