About the position
Elliott Aviation is seeking an experienced Structures Technician to join their Turbo Prop Team in Milan, IL. The role involves inspecting, servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting aircraft airframe and structural systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturers' specifications and FAA regulations. The technician will take ownership of structural projects, interpret blueprints, maintain project documentation, and engage in ongoing training and development.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft airframe and structural systems.
- Take full ownership of assigned structural projects from pre-planning through delivery.
- Interpret aircraft blueprints and modification drawings under the guidance of the Service Crew Chief.
- Coordinate resources and communicate with necessary personnel to ensure quality and timely completion of repairs.
- Assist in structural repair and modification projects by providing skilled labor as directed.
- Maintain accurate project records, including daily discrepancy notes and maintenance sign-offs.
- Use approved policies and manufacturer documentation to resolve issues during inspections and troubleshooting.
- Document On-the-Job Training (OJT) for personal growth and skill development.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of Aircraft maintenance experience with emphasis on Structural Repair and Modifications.
- Ability to attain & retain AOA badge or Airport requirements.
- Ability to obtain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue Stamp).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, 145.
- Airframe & Powerplant Certificate preferred.
- FAA Inspection Authorization preferred.
