About the position
The Student Activities Coordinator at Worcester Academy is responsible for creating and managing a diverse student activities program that caters to the interests of the student body. This role involves direct engagement with students, overseeing attendance, and supporting various student initiatives and events. The coordinator will work closely with student leaders and faculty to enhance the student experience both on and off-campus.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage an activities program that appeals to a diverse range of student interests.
- Collaborate with student leaders to create new events and initiatives.
- Work with the Director of Residential Life and International Student Coordinator to develop cultural programming and weekend offerings.
- Publish weekend activities on the WA weekend website, including trips and events.
- Coordinate the weekend duty schedule and assign staffing.
- Assist in the coordination of major student events such as Oskee Weekend and Spree Day.
- Help with orientation and the opening of school.
- Assist in planning and implementing commencement activities.
- Serve as a faculty advisor to a student leadership group and support the student leadership program.
- Oversee systems and processes for daily Upper School student attendance.
- Coordinate communications around attendance, including parent calls and emails.
- Manage morning study halls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in an independent school setting preferred.
- Previous experience utilizing Blackbaud LMS, REACH, and Google Suite.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in student advising or coaching.
- Familiarity with organizing campus-wide events.
