The Student Aide for Multimedia/Digital Media at Morton College is a vital role designed for current students who are looking to gain practical experience while supporting the college's multimedia initiatives. This position requires the aide to be actively enrolled at Morton College, maintaining a minimum of 6 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters, and at least 1 credit hour in the Summer. The aide must also uphold good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.0. The role is part-time and includes responsibilities that require availability on Saturdays, specifically every third Saturday, to ensure support during campus events and operations. In this position, the Student Aide will be responsible for answering calls and providing support to both faculty and students regarding multimedia inquiries. This includes assisting with the management of the college's Radio Station and potentially opening or closing the office based on the schedule. The aide will also engage in Helpdesk operations related to digital media, demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop skills in Management Information Systems (MIS). The aide will assist in resolving digital media projects and requests, which may involve processing, compressing, and streaming video and audio files for the college's Media Services. Additionally, the aide will provide multimedia support for various campus events, including sporting events and theatre productions, and will be responsible for maintaining audio and video production equipment for the Multimedia staff's use. Training for the Campus Radio Station may also be part of the aide's duties, along with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
