The assistant will engage in advanced literary research under the guidance of a faculty member, which will involve a close interaction with faculty and administrative staff, as well as collaboration with other departments and organizations as needed. The responsibilities of the Student Assistant include performing clerical duties, demonstrating professionalism and dependability, and providing outstanding customer service. The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to engage proactively with a diverse constituency. The assistant will be expected to work independently, manage tasks with minimal supervision, and participate in bi-weekly remote meetings. Additionally, the position involves writing, editing, and proofreading at a professional level, utilizing advanced research skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Requirements

  • Must be a student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College & State University.
  • Must have completed one year of advanced literary training in the GCSU English Department.
  • Must have taken Critical Theory.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
