About the position

The Adobe Creative Space of the Innovation & Research Commons at Auburn University is an open-access learning environment designed to enhance the digital creation skills of students, faculty, and staff. This position as a Student Assistant involves providing educational support in multimedia and graphic design, primarily through the use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications. The role is pivotal in assisting users at the Adobe help desk, where student employees will engage with individuals and groups to facilitate their understanding and use of various Adobe tools. This position not only allows for the development of technical skills but also fosters a collaborative learning atmosphere where students can thrive in their creative endeavors. As a Student Assistant, you will be responsible for offering one-on-one consultations and small group instruction, helping users navigate the complexities of Adobe Creative Cloud. This includes providing support in person and through virtual platforms like Zoom. Additionally, you may assist in live instructional sessions, workshops, and events related to Adobe applications, contributing to the overall educational mission of the Innovation & Research Commons. The role also involves the curation and maintenance of instructional content that highlights the academic applications of Adobe software, ensuring that resources remain relevant and accessible to the Auburn community. Responsibilities

  • Provide multimedia and graphic design educational support to Auburn students, faculty, and staff in their use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Assist Auburn students, faculty, and staff in their use of Adobe Creative Cloud in-person and/or through Zoom via one-on-one consultations or small group instruction.
  • Assist Auburn students, faculty, and staff in their use of technology in the Adobe Creative Space such as use of an AV presentation system and computing hardware.
  • May assist with live instruction such as workshops, instructional sessions, and Adobe-related events.
  • May help develop, curate, and maintain instructional content on the academic application of Adobe apps.
  • Continue learning in Adobe Creative Cloud.

Requirements

  • Enrolled undergraduate student at Auburn University.
  • Some experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Some knowledge of design principles.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Motivation to learn.
