About the position

Columbus State University (CSU) is seeking a Student Assistant for the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. This part-time position is located at the Front Desk, where the selected candidates will play a crucial role in providing customer service to students and guests visiting the office. The Student Assistant will assist various members of the Student Affairs team, including the Executive Assistant, the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, the Associate Dean of Students, and the Assistant Dean of Students. Responsibilities will include answering phone calls, greeting guests, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area. Confidentiality regarding student information and other sensitive matters is paramount in this role. The ideal candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and prioritize responsibilities effectively. Attention to detail, respect for others, a strong work ethic, and adherence to workplace guidelines are essential qualities for success in this position. The selected candidates will be expected to start work at the beginning of the Fall 2024 semester, with a pay rate of $8.00 per hour for up to 19 hours per week. Candidates must also be prepared to undergo a background investigation, which may include reference checks and verification of academic credentials, as well as other requirements based on specific duties. Responsibilities
