About the position

The Student Assistant position in the Office of Payroll and Benefits at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is designed for currently enrolled students who are looking to gain practical experience while supporting the administrative functions of the office. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and benefits processes, and it reports directly to the Director of Payroll and Benefits. The Student Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency of the office, including maintaining reports, managing file maintenance, and assisting with the preparation and distribution of correspondence. In this role, the Student Assistant will engage in data entry, answer and make phone calls, and assist staff with special projects as needed. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality, as the assistant will be handling sensitive information related to payroll and employee benefits. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position not only provides valuable work experience but also allows students to contribute to the college community and support their peers in achieving their academic goals. Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain a strict degree of confidentiality
