About the position

The Student Assistant-R D - Student Engineer position focuses on the application of machine learning and signal processing within the Signal & Embedded Technologies team. This team is dedicated to developing advanced signal processing capabilities specifically for mobile platforms used in intelligence and surveillance applications. As a student engineer, you will have the opportunity to engage in complex research and development tasks that leverage your interests in software-defined radio, machine learning, and signal processing. This role is designed for students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, contributing to innovative solutions that address real-world challenges in the field of signal processing. In this position, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and software developers, working together to tackle challenging problems related to signal processing. Your responsibilities will include applying engineering principles and programming knowledge to develop software solutions that enhance the capabilities of specialized radio communication, radiolocation, and electronic warfare programs. You will observe and assist in the design, development, and testing of software capabilities, gaining hands-on experience in the field. Additionally, you will work closely with the engineering team to create innovative solutions for automatic interception and geolocation of communication and electronic signals, utilizing machine learning techniques. This role will also involve assisting with research objectives aimed at developing enabling technologies that can be deployed to meet customer needs effectively. This position is set for the summer of 2025, providing a valuable opportunity for students to gain experience in a cutting-edge technological environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles and knowledge of programming languages to develop software solutions.
  • Observe and assist in the design, development, and testing of software capabilities for applications in specialized radio communication, radiolocation, and electronic warfare programs.
  • Work with the engineering team to develop innovative solutions for automatic interception and geolocation of communication and electronic signals, including the application of machine learning techniques.
  • Assist with research objectives and efforts focused on developing enabling technologies that can be deployed to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • 0-5 years of elective coursework or internships with a focus on software applications, machine learning, artificial intelligence, signal processing, or signals & systems.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
