About the position

The Student Assistant (Student Ambassador) position at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) is designed for motivated and engaged students who will represent the institution positively. As part of the Enrollment Management Student Ambassador Program, the role involves promoting a sense of community among students and serving as a role model for both current and prospective students. The position requires participation in various student recruitment activities, including campus tours and events, while maintaining a professional demeanor and attire.

Responsibilities

  • Calling prospective students.
  • Conducting scheduled campus tours for prospective students and their families.
  • Assisting admissions staff with various secretarial/administrative assignments.
  • Assisting with Open Houses and any other events hosted or co-hosted by the Admissions Office.
  • Greeting and providing directions, general information, and assistance to visitors, students, and staff.
  • Maintaining and assisting with tracking of Admissions Inventory.
  • Attending Student Ambassador Professional Development.
  • Maintaining proper work attire, business casual, and wearing the assigned Rutgers SHP Student Ambassador Polo during all events.
  • Assisting admissions staff with various secretarial/administrative assignments.
  • Updating EM Student Ambassador social media (Twitter, FB, Instagram) regularly.
  • Answering questions and referring questions to appropriate admissions counselors or departments.
  • Scheduling campus visits and interviews for prospective students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time in a SHP academic program.
  • Required to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Willingness to engage and interact with a diverse population of students and professionals.
