About the position

The Enrollment Management Student Ambassador position at Rutgers University is designed for motivated and engaged students who will represent the institution positively. Ambassadors play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community among students and serve as role models for both current and prospective students. They assist the Office of Enrollment Management with various recruitment activities, showcasing the university to potential students and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Calling prospective students.
  • Conducting scheduled campus tours for prospective students and their families.
  • Assisting admissions staff with various secretarial/administrative assignments.
  • Assisting with Open Houses and other events hosted by the Admissions Office.
  • Greeting and providing directions, general information, and assistance to visitors, students, and staff.
  • Maintaining and assisting with tracking of Admissions Inventory.
  • Attending Student Ambassador Professional Development sessions.
  • Maintaining proper work attire, including wearing the assigned Rutgers SHP Student Ambassador Polo during all events.
  • Assisting with updating EM Student Ambassador social media (Facebook, Instagram) regularly.
  • Answering questions and referring inquiries to appropriate admissions counselors or departments.
  • Scheduling campus visits and interviews for prospective students.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time in a SHP academic program.
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5.
