About the position

The Student Career Coach (SCC) at Road to Hire is responsible for supporting a caseload of current college students, focusing on their academic persistence and career attainment. The SCC will provide one-on-one coaching, help students develop essential skills, and facilitate their access to resources for internships and employment. This role involves tracking student progress and maintaining communication to ensure students meet their academic and career goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one guidance to a caseload of 70 - 120 college students.
• Create and facilitate individualized career development plans aligned to student profiles.
• Maintain ongoing communication with all students on caseload.
• Lead 30-minute meetings for approximately 40 students per week virtually.
• Respond to all student texts/calls/emails within 2 business days.
• Develop individualized communication plans to ensure student engagement.
• Coordinate monthly campus visits to universities for impactful in-person events.
• Track and record student communication and progress in the database.
• Ensure proper documentation of grades and learning progress is completed by students.
• Enter data into the database within 3 business days of a student interaction.
• Maintain accurate student contact information in the database.
• Manage scheduling for assigned caseload, including student meetings.
• Support planning and staffing of College Program events.
• Support student recruitment, intake, and transition from the Road to High College Prep Program into College Program.
• Represent the R2H brand positively and increase brand awareness.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in higher education, ideally in career counseling/student coaching or campus recruiting.
• Experience case managing at least 50-55 students with proven methods for success.
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to quickly build trust with students.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to set deadlines for themselves and for projects.

• Experience in Career Counseling and Career Coaching is strongly preferred.
