About the position

The Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Development and Brand Awareness and will be responsible for the approval, planning, and execution of two of the four mandatory educational sessions for student-athletes. The individual will assist the advisor to the student-athlete advisory committee and work with student-athletes to prepare them for life after sports.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute financial education and Spurs Up seminars annually, including reserving meeting space, creating attendee lists, confirming presenters, executing the event, and compiling feedback.
  • Serve as liaison to assigned teams to develop relationships with coaches and student-athletes and provide student-development information and updates.
  • Meet with students individually for professional, career, or leadership development.
  • Serve as liaison to the career center on campus and communicate available resources to student-athletes.
  • Plan and facilitate resume workshops for all incoming freshmen and transfers per semester.
  • Assist in all aspects of professional and personal development programming, including LinkedIn and career assessments.
  • Assist with brand awareness for all Name, Image, Likeness programming and the Beyond Sports Internship.
  • Present during team and individual recruiting programs for the SADV department.
  • Oversee Generation Gamecock Mentorship program connecting current student-athletes with former athletes and community youth.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Student Development and Brand Awareness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations in a university environment.
