About the position

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Virtual Communications Assistant at Duet. This position is designed for students enrolled in SNHU degree programs and is part of the work-study financial aid package. The Virtual Communications Assistant will support Duet staff with daily tasks, primarily focusing on managing communications. The student will monitor the general info email inbox and phone line, ensuring that inquiries are routed to the appropriate teams. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain professional experience in a remote setting while contributing to the mission of a nonprofit organization. In this role, the student will be responsible for monitoring the [email protected] inbox for incoming emails and voicemails. They will listen to new voicemails and forward the messages to the appropriate team via email, including details of the call. Additionally, the student will forward all general question emails to the relevant team. Each term, the student will work with their supervisor to identify a communications-related special project that aligns with their long-term career goals, developing a work plan that includes periodic check-ins. This position is an excellent opportunity for students to build their professional skills while supporting communications and student services within the organization. The work schedule is flexible, with shifts typically ranging from 2 to 4 hours, available Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 10 PM for virtual-only positions. Responsibilities

  • Monitor the [email protected] inbox for incoming emails and voicemails.
  • Listen to new voicemails and route the messages to the appropriate team by forwarding the message via email with details of the call.
  • Forward all general question emails to the appropriate team.
  • Meet with the supervisor at the beginning of each enrolled term to identify a communications-related special project and develop a related work plan, including periodic check-ins.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in SNHU degree program
  • Participate in work-study as part of financial aid package
  • Maintain academic progress requirements to keep work-study hours, including submitting progress every 7 days.
