About the position

The Student Employee in the Department of Accounting serves as an Accounting Tutor, providing academic support to students enrolled in Intermediate Accounting and Federal Taxation courses. This part-time role involves coordinating tutoring sessions, creating study materials, and facilitating both in-person and online learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tutoring services to students enrolled in Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II, and Federal Taxation Concepts courses.
  • Coordinate tutoring plans and topics with professors teaching the courses.
  • Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions and group-study sessions.
  • Utilize online study games and create study guides to enhance learning.
  • Assist students both in person and online.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with online tutoring platforms.
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts and coursework.
