About the position

The Houstonian Student Newspaper is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented News Editor to oversee a team of reporters. As the News Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the newspaper provides comprehensive and accurate coverage of both campus and community events. You will be responsible for generating, assigning, and editing content to uphold The Houstonian's high editorial standards. This includes ensuring that all published stories meet rigorous quality standards, which encompass strong communication, writing, editing, and grammar skills. The ideal candidate will possess an outgoing and proactive personality, allowing them to effectively lead a team and engage with various stakeholders within the university and the surrounding community.
