About the position
The Student Enrollment Specialist plays a crucial role in providing information and assistance across various departments within Student and Enrollment Services at Collin County Community College. This position involves advising students on program planning, admissions processes, and academic resources, ensuring that students receive accurate information and support throughout their educational journey.
Responsibilities
- Assist students, staff, faculty, and the general public with correct information regarding college and student services in person, online, and over the telephone.
- Advise students on program planning, course selection, schedule changes, transferability, and course withdrawals.
- Advise academically at-risk students regarding coursework and college resources to develop necessary academic skills.
- Process admissions applications for continuing education and credit students, ensuring compliance with state guidelines.
- Review residency documentation to determine eligibility for in-state tuition and process accordingly.
- Evaluate scores from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment to determine appropriate course placement levels.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited institution.
- At least two (2) years of related experience in student services or a similar field.
- Knowledge of district rules, policies, and practices related to student services.
- Strong problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

- Experience working with special populations, including Veterans and International Students.
- Familiarity with student information and network systems.
