The Student Finance Manager plays a crucial role in the administration of student finance accounts, working closely with the Assistant Director of Student Accounts and other staff members. This position is dedicated to ensuring quality student service, maintaining superior regulatory compliance, and implementing enrollment-sensitive policies and procedures. The Student Finance Manager is actively involved in the day-to-day management of federal, state, and institutional financial aid funds, as well as overseeing all aspects of student account billing and reconciliation. The ultimate goal is to provide the best possible financial counseling to support students in achieving their educational objectives. In this role, the Student Finance Manager is expected to maintain a strong working knowledge of higher education financial aid programs, policies, and procedures. This includes a thorough understanding of the regulations governing these programs. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in using Excel for data analysis and reporting. Strong organizational, analytical, planning, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. The manager must demonstrate a professional work ethic, a positive attitude, and effective problem-solving skills, particularly when managing multiple complex assignments under tight deadlines. The Student Finance Manager will also be responsible for maintaining knowledge of diversity-related issues and best practices, performing standard billing and collection duties, and assisting in the continuous development of process improvements for managing student accounts. This role includes leading the Student Finance Counselors, ensuring that all duties and responsibilities are executed smoothly, and modeling top-level customer service for students and their families. Regular training in customer service and financial aid administration is also a key component of this position, aimed at enhancing the manager's understanding of federal, state, and institutional aid administration.
