About the position

The Student Financial Aid Administrator at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is responsible for planning, operating, processing, and reporting on a variety of financial aid programs and services. This role supports a diverse student population and manages significant financial aid resources, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines while providing essential information and services to students and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and counsel to clients of the Office of Student Financial Aid in-person, by telephone, or through written correspondence.
• Serve as a liaison with University offices and other related financial aid agencies.
• Utilize available resources to provide presentations to large groups and work one-on-one with students and their families.
• Represent OSFA on institutional, state, and federal committees and at professional conferences and workshops.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of legislation governing financial aid programs and federal needs analysis methodology.
• Coordinate staff efforts to carry out program responsibilities and educate/train other office staff regarding the programs.
• Administer programs and execute procedures specified on the Office of Student Financial Aid Program Responsibilities list.
• Manage student awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of financial aid; maintain student records and process applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, humanities, social sciences, or a closely related field.
• One year of professional experience in student services, financial aid/loans, or a closely related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Successful experience in student financial aid or client services.
• Experience presenting information to large groups.
