About the position

The Engineering Department at Utah Valley University is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented student grader to assist in the evaluation of student work for various Engineering courses. This position is ideal for current UVU students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their engineering coursework. As a student grader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the academic integrity of the department by providing fair and accurate grading of assignments and exams. This position not only helps you reinforce your own understanding of the material but also allows you to contribute to the educational experience of your peers. In this role, you will be responsible for grading assignments, projects, and exams for courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Engineering (ENGR), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Civil Engineering (CIVE). You will work closely with faculty members to ensure that grading criteria are met and that feedback is provided to students in a timely manner. This position requires a strong understanding of the subject matter, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and faculty regarding grading policies and expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant applications. You will need to be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage your time effectively to meet grading deadlines. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
