About the position

Bestbath is seeking a Student Housing Market Development Manager to enhance our market position in the Student Housing Commercial Construction sector. This fully remote role is pivotal in advancing our brand equity within this targeted industry segment. The successful candidate will lead all business development efforts as part of our broader growth strategy, establishing themselves as a visible leader in the student housing construction and development market. This position requires nurturing a network of relationships to develop positive brand awareness and identify new industry-specific solutions and business opportunities. The Market Segment Manager will actively engage with key trade associations, serving on committees, participating in public speaking events, and contributing to educational initiatives that enhance Bestbath's value as a partner in the industry. Collaboration with sales and marketing leadership is essential to develop and execute strategies, while also working closely with regional sales teams to transition opportunities into the company. This individual contributor role focuses on unlocking potential growth and developing value for our products in the assigned segments, with success measured through brand development and growth in downstream sales. The position offers a competitive base salary range of $80,000-$100,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a remote work schedule, profit-sharing, commission opportunities, and employer-sponsored health plans covering 85% of premiums. Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage components of the marketing and communications strategy to build brand visibility in the target segment.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and update unique differentiations between Bestbath and competitors.
  • Manage understanding of customer experiences with the company and products, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify and connect existing unique selling propositions (USPs) our product provides to the segment for messaging.
  • Manage early business opportunities in the CRM before handing off to regional sales managers or inside sales representatives.
  • Participate in sales efforts such as video calls, site meetings, or customer visits to support or close key deals as directed by the Channel Sales Manager.
  • Act as a corporate resource to other functions needing expertise or relationships to execute tasks or projects.
  • Lend expertise and analysis of customers and market trends to develop and direct strategy for market growth.
  • Implement and execute plans to enhance the company's presence and market share within the targeted segment.
  • Establish and maintain an active presence in target segments to build relationships and reinforce brand awareness.
  • Maintain and report high-level metrics related to the target segment as assigned by the channel sales manager.
  • Create and manage all prospecting activities, networking, and lead assignments using CRM workflows as instructed.
  • Use CRM and ERP to assess progress to segment targets and populate key data points for forecasting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years in a business development or sales role, participating in strategic growth activities.
  • Minimum of two (2) years business development or sales experience with a proven track record in the assigned market segment or a closely aligned industry.
  • Existing, reliable professional network in the target market or a closely aligned segment.
  • Strong prospecting skills, including comfort with cold networking and in-person engagement.
  • Detail-oriented with high organizational skills to manage multiple projects and objectives.
  • Experience in CRM software and commitment to maintaining updated data in real-time.
  • Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.
  • High level of competency in managing a complex travel schedule.
  • Intermediate math and calendar skills.
  • Fluent in English with proper grammar.
